Marketing a new product 101 - checklist

What is it? Do we need it? Is it new? Can you make money from it? And why do you want to sell it? And then if it's great, how easy is it to replicate and can you cover the costs of protecting it. What's the proposition and then how are you going to position it so it hits the demographic (right target audience).


I hate to be a kill-joy about marketing a new product, but once you've gone through the hard questions you can feel comfortable with what you have to sell. Marketing is all encompassing. People often think it's promotion (if only it was that easy).
